Arsenal retain nine Nigerian-eligible talents, offer deals to two

Arsenal have retained nine players of Nigerian descent following the submission of their 2024/25 retained list to the Premier League, with two of them, Cam’ron Ismail and Daniel Oyetunde, offered new contracts.

According to ANS, the list includes goalkeeper Khari Ranson; defenders Samuel Chinedu, Ismail, Josh Nichols, and Josh Ogunnaike; midfielders Ethan Nwaneri and Ife Ibrahim; and forwards Oyetunde and Andre Harriman-Annous.

Ismail and Oyetunde, both second-year scholars, have been handed their first professional contracts.

Ismail has been with the Gunners since age 15, while Oyetunde joined at the U15 level through the Hale End Academy.

Oyetunde registered two goals in the U18 Premier League last season and featured in the FA Youth Cup.

Ismail made 22 appearances across four youth competitions, including the UEFA Youth League and Premier League 2.

Among the retained group, only Nwaneri and Nichols earned senior team minutes last season.

However, Ranson, Ibrahim, Ismail, Ogunnaike, and Harriman-Annous were involved in first-team training sessions, though none made a matchday squad.
