Arsenal’s pursuit of Ademola Lookman has taken a twist, with Napoli entering the race to sign the in-form Atalanta winger, as the Serie A side prepare for life after Victor Osimhen.
Following renewed interest from Galatasaray, who have reportedly met Napoli’s €75 million valuation for Osimhen, the Italian side are ready to reinvest in their attack.
According to Sky Sport, Lookman has been identified as a key target to bolster their wide options, especially after the departure of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Lookman, 27, has seen his value surge after a standout 2023/24 season capped by a historic hat-trick in the Europa League final, and is currently priced at €50 million. He remains under contract at Atalanta until 2027.
Arsenal have tracked the Nigerian international for some time, however, they now face stiff competition.
West Ham United and Atletico Madrid are also monitoring the situation, with the Spanish club reportedly opening initial talks with Lookman’s representatives.
Napoli’s official move is expected once Osimhen’s sale is confirmed.
With multiple clubs circling, Atalanta are in a strong position to spark a bidding war, potentially driving the price beyond €50 million.
