Arsenal are weighing up a summer move for Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku, who could be available for a reduced fee as the Blues prepare for a squad overhaul.
Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2023 for £52 million but has struggled with injuries and limited impact, starting only nine Premier League games this season.
Despite his challenges in England, the France international remains a player of high pedigree, having scored 58 goals in his final two seasons in Germany.
Reports suggest Arsenal are considering Nkunku as a tactical fit for their attacking system, with Mikel Arteta looking to add depth and versatility to his frontline.
The 26-year-old could be available for around £40 million, a significant markdown on his original fee and viewed by some clubs as a bargain.
However, Arsenal are not alone in their interest. Barcelona and several Bundesliga sides are also tracking Nkunku’s availability, increasing competition for his signature.
Arsenal are also exploring other forward options, including Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, as they aim to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
