Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay Idibia is taking a moment to reflect on how far she’s come in her acting career.
In a heartfelt post on her Instagram page, the mother of two shared a nostalgic memory from her early days in Nollywood. She recounted how she used to take a longer route to school just so she could pass by shops and film centers to check for newly released movie posters eagerly hoping to spot her face on one.
Annie revealed that at the time, getting featured on a movie poster meant visibility, recognition, and hope for future roles. It was a dream she held on to tightly.
Fast forward to today, the actress proudly noted that she no longer needs to wait for validation. Instead of hoping to be cast, she’s now in a position to choose which films she wants to feature in a full-circle moment she attributes to grace.

I remember how I usually took the long route, driving to school (UNILAG), so that I could check all the recent movie posters through Surulere to see if any of my new movies were out and if they put my face on the posters!
The dream then wasn’t just to get the roles but to pray that the marketers would see your face as sellable enough to make the front poster!
