Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has informed Franco Mastantuono that he plans to play him as “an old-school number 10” at Los Blancos, according to Diario Olé.
Mastantuono is close to joining Real Madrid this summer after rejecting a move to Manchester United and other top clubs.
Real Madrid are moving quickly to secure the signing of the 17-year-old midfielder from River Plate in this summer’s transfer window.
The report added that Mastantuono is keen and eager to play for the Spanish LaLiga giants next season.
He has been telling all clubs interested in his signature that his priority is Real Madrid.
Real Madrid are eager to bolster their squad this summer transfer window after missing out on the Copa del Rey, LaLiga and UEFA Champions League titles last season.
They want to strengthen Alonso’s squad this summer ahead of next season, after the Spaniard replaced Carlo Ancelotti last month at the Santiago Bernabéu.
