Adams Oshiomhole, the Senator representing Edo North, has said that politicians in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, threatening a bloodbath in the ongoing Edo State governorship election are living in a fool’s paradise.
Oshiomhole stated this shortly before casting his vote in Iyamoh Primary School, Ward 10 PU1, Etsako West LGA.
He expressed happiness and prayed that the election remains peaceful.
According to him, the integrity of the electoral process is more important than the outcome.
The former Edo State governor alleged that an acting national chairman of a political party has been issuing threats from Abuja.
“A couple of people have called me, telling me they have started voting. I asked about the environment, and they said it is peaceful. I am very certain that the situation will prevail everywhere as I pray it is going.
“Some people are threatening that there will be violence. One of the acting national chairmen said they are going to do bloodbath and so on. He is in Abuja and he is wishing they could do that kind of thing.
“By the way these people are conducting themselves, you know that those guys are living in a fool’s paradise,” he stated.
Recall that the state governor, Godwin Obaseki on September 14, declared the governorship election in the state “a do-or-die affair”.
