In the statement, Buba explained that on the 29th of August 2024, at about 5 p.m., troops of OPERATION HADARIN DAJI deployed at FOB Zurmi in Zurmi LGA of State embarked on a fighting patrol to dislodge a terror gathering at Kwashabawa Village.

During the fight, while attempting to outflank the terrorists, two of the troops’ MRAPs got bogged down due to the swampy terrain caused by the rains.

The statement further stated that the troops dismounted and demobilized the Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles when efforts to backload them were futile, adding that the demobilization of the MRAPs by the troops was to prevent them from being useful to the terrorists after abandonment.

He, however, urged Nigerians to be circumspect of the antics of the terrorists to propagate misinformation, disinformation and fake news as part of their war propaganda efforts.
