President Bola Tinubu’s first media chat has been scheduled
to air on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio
Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).
In a statement, Bayo Onanuga, presidential spokesperson,
said the presidential media chat will be aired by 9 pm today.
“The first Presidential Media Chat with President Bola Ahmed
Tinubu will be broadcast at 9 p.m. on Monday, December 23, on the Nigerian
Television Authority and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria,” the statement
reads.
All television and radio stations are requested to hook up
to the broadcast.
This will be Tinubu’s first media chat since his assumption
of office on May 29, 2023.
During the media chat, Tinubu will answer questions from a
panel of journalists on national issues pertaining to his economic policies,
security, and other issues.
The tradition of presidential media chat started during the
administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Successive administrations under Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and
Goodluck Jonathan continued the trend.
However, under the administration of former President
Muhammadu Buhari, the momentum of the presidential media chat diminished.
