Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has admitted he wishes he never made a cruel comment about former Chelsea and Arsenal defender David Luiz.
Luiz had an impressive and trophy-laden career during his time at Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League.
But following a Chelsea defeat to Liverpool during the 2011-2012 campaign, Neville said Luiz played like he was โbeing controlled by a 10-year-old on a PlayStation.โ
However, many years later, Neville regrets his comment about the Brazilian, insisting it was harsh.
โI can think of a couple of things,โ Neville said on Sky Betโs Stick to Football when asked if he regretted anything he has said as a pundit.
โI wish I never said the David Luiz line, about him being a โPlayStation player.โ I wish I never said โbillion-dollar bottle jobsโ about Chelsea.
โThey are harsh lines that stain a group of players. David Luiz never got rid of that really.
โItโs a cheap shot; it borders on a cheap shot. Thereโs not many things, but those come to mind.โ
