Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), have arrested a suspected gunrunner and recovered an AK-47 rifle during a snap checkpoint operation in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to Zagazola Makama, the arrest was made on July 3 at about 5:45 p.m. at Mangar in Daffo District, after receiving credible tips.
According to the security expert, the suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Zubairu Ahmed.
He was intercepted by the troops and found in possession of one AK-47 rifle, a loaded magazine containing three rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition, a motorcycle, two Tecno mobile phones, clothing material, and the sum of N400.
According to the post on his X handle, “the suspect and recovered items are currently in custody for further interrogation, while efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend other members of the arms trafficking syndicate.”
