The President of the United States of America has announced that he will decide whether to join Israel in a war campaign against Iran within two weeks.
According to Reuters, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Thursday.
Leavitt, however, noted that there is a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the future.
“Based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks,” she said, citing a message from Trump.
She added that Trump prioritises diplomatic solutions as a “peacemaker in chief” but will not hesitate to use US military strength as well.
“The president is always interested in a diplomatic solution … he is a peacemaker in chief”. But he’s not afraid to use strength as well,” she added.
This comes as Israel fired a missile at Iran’s nuclear site, and Iran retaliated.
There have been exchanges of ballistic missiles between Israel and Iran for days, with casualties on both sides.
