A grandmother in Benin City has been arrested for burning her granddaughter’s hands as punishment for eating Indomie noodles without permission.
The child, who was reportedly hungry, ate the noodles against her grandmother’s wish.
In response, the grandmother placed the girl’s hands on a gas stove, causing severe burns.
A witness reported the case to the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs.
The Ministry intervened, arrested the grandmother, and took the child to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) for treatment.
