PORT HARCOURT— A female trader has been crushed to death in Rivers State by a tipper conveying building materials.
The incident happened, yesterday, at Oil Mill Market at Rumuokwurusi area of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the heavily loaded truck was descending from the Eleme Junction flyover when it failed brake and crushed the victim.
It was learned that the victim, whose name could not be ascertained at press time was trading on food items by the road side when the truck ran over her.
Another trader, Mrs. Uchechi, who was in trauma over the development said the woman was packaging food stuff for her customer when the truck took her life.
Uchechi said: “We were just in the market, she was selling market when the driver jammed her. She died there under the tyre of the tipper.”
