Former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Pastor Reno Omokri has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for declaring state of emergency in Rivers.
Past few months, Rivers State has witnessed political crisis with Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and 27 elected members of the State House of Assembly tied in an unfinished fight.
Today Tinubu suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all 27 elected members of the State House of Assembly for an initial period of six months.
“By this declaration, the Governor of Rivers State, Mr Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, Mrs Ngozi Odu and all elected members of the House of Assembly of Rivers State are hereby suspended for an initial period of six months”.
He also appointed Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas (Rtd) as Administrator to take charge of the affairs of the state in the interest of the good people of Rivers State.
Reacting to the declaration, Reno said “At last, Nigeria has a Commander-in-Chief rather than a Commander-at-Sleep! A President who is not just in power, but knows what to do with power”.
