Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong has accepted responsibility for the team’s 2- 1 loss to the Amavubi of Rwanda.
Augustine Eguavoen’s side led 1-0 courtesy of Samuel Chukwueze’s superb individual strike.
The West Africans, however, conceded two quick goals, both due to slack defending.
The centre-back claimed he was not up to the task of organising the defence well.
“Yes, you’re right, and I take responsibility,” Troost-Ekong told reporters.
“As captain and the last man at the back, I know we should have done better. But don’t forget, free kicks, like other set-piece situations, can trouble any team, and I think that’s what happened today. So, I take responsibility.”
