A 41-year-old Nigerian lady, Ada Ozor, has opened up about her struggles with finding a husband, revealing how her past decisions have left her single and unhappy.
In a recent interview with content creator Lucky Udu, Ada shared her journey through relationships and how her mindset about marriage evolved over the years.
Reflecting on her younger years, Ada admitted that financial stability was her top priority when considering a partner. She revealed that she rejected a suitor in her 20s because he was just an apprentice and lacked financial security.
“In my 20s, I wanted a man that had money, I am sorry to say this. I just have to be honest about it. I needed someone who could take care of me, provide my needs, and support my family,” she said.
According to Ada, the apprentice she was dating at the time proposed marriage, assuring her that with time, he would become financially stable. However, she turned him down, opting to wait for a wealthier suitor.
“My mum always told me that marriage is not a relationship—you have to be ready before going into it. So, I decided to wait and understand marriage before committing,” she explained.
Life as a single lady in her 30s
As she approached her 30s, Ada had a shift in mindset and was ready to settle down. However, she found it increasingly difficult to find a serious suitor.
“When I got to my 30s, I thought, ‘Ha, I need to settle down now.’ But then I started struggling. There was no suitor. Every man that approached me would say he wanted to marry me, but after some time, they would disappear or disappoint me,” she lamented.
She recounted her longest relationship during that period, which lasted three years with a man based in Qatar. Unfortunately, despite their time together, the relationship did not lead to marriage.
Turning to Social Media for Help
Now at 41, Ada has resorted to social media, sharing her story in hopes of finding a life partner.
As Ada continues her search for love, her story has sparked debate about timing, priorities, and the realities of relationships in today’s society.
