2027 Election: ADC will die after 6 months – Presidency

Presidency dismisses the viability of the newly formed opposition coalition, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), predicting that the party will disintegrate within six months due to a lack of clear ideology.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, said the coalition poses no threat to the current administration.

He noted that even Labour Party’s 2023 vice-presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, had earlier raised concerns about potential internal conflicts, particularly around selecting a presidential flagbearer.

Bwala criticized the ADC for failing to present any meaningful or convincing policy alternatives, adding that the public excitement surrounding the coalition should not be mistaken for long-term political impact.

He said …

“What I still find intriguing is that this coalition of internally displaced politicians has not been able to summon the courage to come up with alternative facts, alternative policies, or alternative programmes.

“Throughout the interview you had with Peter Obi, what I observed is that he has not been able to counter or disagree, in the real sense of the word, with the policies of the present government.

They have not brought a single alternative policy to the table. All they do is criticise and issue press statements. The truth is, they lack vision and have not shown Nigerians they truly care.”

Bwala also dismissed the threats posed by opposition leaders to President Tinubu’s administration, describing the newly formed alliance as fragile and unsustainable.

He asserted that the coalition lacks the cohesion and ideological foundation needed to survive and is unlikely to last beyond six months.
